Prohibited Items Guidelines

To ensure a safe marketplace, SnappinSell does not allow the sale of certain items. Some present legal risks or may pose health and safety issues, and others are considered inappropriate or offensive for our community.

Before you post, review the guidelines below to ensure your items are okay to sell on SnappinSell.

Adult & Mature Content

• Adult toys, explicit sexual content or nudity, fetish items, pornography, sensual lotions or lubricants.

Alcohol, Drugs, & Tobacco

• Alcohol, prescription/illegal drugs, cannabis, items for intoxication, tobacco, e-cigs, hookahs, growing equipment, drug paraphernalia, pill-making items.

Animals

Live animals are never allowed on SnappinSell, including but not limited to cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, horses, hamsters, farm animals, or insects.

Counterfeit or Replica Items

• Counterfeits, fakes, replicas, unauthorized or pirated copies, and items implying a false brand affiliation.

Cultural Items

• Artifacts, memorabilia, or items depicting dehumanizing caricatures.
• Items falsely suggesting Native American or tribal origins.
• Cultural/ceremonial items, grave markers, human remains.

Weapons & Dangerous Items

• Mace, pepper spray, tasers, batons, knuckles, throwing stars, paintball/BB/airsoft guns, hunting weapons, sharpened swords, weapon parts, gun accessories, defeat devices, water beads, recalled items.

Note: Decorative blunt swords and vape batteries are generally permitted.

Knives

Cutlery, kitchen knives, folding knives and multi-tools are allowed. Not allowed:

• Automatic knives, butterfly knives, gravity knives, OTF knives, paratrooper knives, push knives, sword canes, spring-assisted knives, disguised knives.

Food Items*

• No prepared/perishable food, homemade shelf products, eggs (unless picked up directly at farm), or baked goods.

*Allowed: whole uncut produce, sealed commercial goods, farm eggs at farm.

Gift Cards

Gift cards and reloadable cards are not allowed, due to high fraud risk.

Hazardous Materials

• Firearms (no exceptions), airbags, explosives, combustibles, regulated chemicals, poisons, radioactive materials, pesticides, ozone-depleting substances, and regulated refrigerants.

Illegal Items

• Anything illegal or encouraging illegal activity, including sensitive information, fake documents, items from government assistance, police/security uniforms, locked/blacklisted devices, license plate tags, stolen goods, rideshare signs, gas canisters, devices for copyright infringement, and more.

Medical & Healthcare Items

• Prescription devices, drugs, ventilators, cannabis/CBD, supplements, used cosmetics, needles, disease/virus-related listings, and anything related to vaccines.

Misleading Claims

Listings must not be misleading or contain false endorsements/certifications. Items with CPSC claims should be verified.

Offensive Materials

• No foul language, hate, violence, or discrimination; no glorification of hate organizations; no misinformation or user slander.

Recalls & Product Warnings

Recalled or unsafe items are not allowed. Always check product recall lists and heed safety warnings.

Services, Ads, & Intangible Items

• No services (unless in Services feed), ads, jobs in For Sale feed, listings only advertising a business, listings with contact info, URLs, rentals, MLM schemes, lost pet/wanted/solicitation ads, digital goods, invites/codes, mystery boxes, eBooks, or mismatched images/titles.

Wildlife & Wildlife Products

No wildlife products sourced illegally or in violation of law (bears, birds, dolphins, corals, elephants, turtles, otters, pangolins, primates, rhinos, sharks, rays, antelope, wild cats, ivory, exotic hides, or taxidermy).

Maintaining a Safe Marketplace

• We remove listings and act on accounts that violate our policies.
• We work with law enforcement as needed.
• We’re always improving features for marketplace safety.
